¹ú²úÂÒÂ× is advancing discovery through driving the development of open research.
We believe in the benefit of research being made available to readers immediately for free, and that all research published should be made as discoverable, accessible, understandable, usable, re-usable and shareable as possible.
In 2017, ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× surveyed more than 7,700 researchers worldwide, asking specifically about data sharing at the point of submitting an article for publication. The level of respondents from some regions of interest – notably Japan and China – meant that we could not do detailed analysis, so this year we have begun to extend our research to these territories. So here today we publish a survey of more than 1,000 Japanese researchers, looking at the challenges and opportunities in data sharing in Japan.
