Addressing complex societal challenges that impact interconnected systems requires us to consider different regional and local contexts to identify equitable solutions.

That's why SDG 17 is a focus for ¹ú²úÂÒÂ×; we work in partnership with others to accelerate delivery of the goals by connecting researchers, policymakers, and practitioners through targeted events and new content formats.

"At ¹ú²úÂÒÂ×, we are deeply committed to assisting researchers from the Global South and providing publishing opportunities that leave nobody behind.  We take our part in science diplomacy by promoting international and cross-disciplinary collaborations. By publishing and disseminating scientific advice and evidence, we build bridges between scientists, policy and decision-makers globally."

Collaborative networks

SDG 17 seeks to improve global cooperation, infrastructure, and equity, and at ¹ú²úÂÒÂ×, we are signatories and participants of many collaborative networks including:

  • , a collaboration between the UN and the International Publishers Association to develop sustainable practices and act as champions by publishing books and journals that will help inform, develop, and inspire action in the direction of SDGs
  • , a unique UN agencies/international publishers network making research available in low-income countries by providing free access to training and resources to enable researchers in under-represented regions to develop research capabilities
  • Science for a Sustainable Future – a joint UN SDSN / ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× initiative that brings together key stakeholders, policymakers, and researchers to discuss and advance the objectives of SDGs
  • created in 2016 to encourage news media to enact policies that further gender equity, with an eye toward the visibility of women globally, particularly relevant to SDG 5
  • to facilitate knowledge exchange and equip decision makers with the information that will help address the world’s most pressing challenges
  • to achieve net zero by 2040 particularly relevant to SDG 13
  • , a global organization of 500 partners working together to end disability exclusion
