Book types we offer

Book series

Volumes in a book series share a common aims and scope. ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× book series focus on specific research topics, we also publish dedicated textbook series. Our largest series is Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) with over 600 volumes published per year.

Conference Proceedings

Are a way of quickly distributing the latest research in particular in the fields of Computer Science and Engineering. At ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× we publish over 2,000 conference proceedings of important industry conferences per year.

General interest books

Explain latest research topics to non-expert readers wishing to explore beyond their own area. As these books require little previous knowledge, they are written in a lucid and engaging style. We publish around 300 of general interest books per year. 

Handbooks

Our comprehensive handbooks offer expert-edited references on broad research fields. Publishing 300 titles annually, they include the Springer Handbook of Robotics and the Palgrave Handbooks, which feature commissioned chapters and guide future research.

Monographs and contributed volumes

Provide original primary research and results. Research from authors is collected and synthesized in contributed volumes. These books provide detailed studies on specialized subjects to advance knowledge and represent approximately 50% of our publications.

Professional books

Offer advanced training and practical information to experts working in specialized fields. We particularly publish many professional books in all branches of Clinical Medicine, but also for example in Business and Management and in Psychology.
